We've been busy in the Guidance Department in 7th grade so far this year! After completing the Needs Assessment at the beginning of the year I learned that our 7th graders were very interested in learning more about being successful at school, having better study skills, and managing their stress. We began our Academic Success series in September where we will address all of those topics! Our first installment in Academic Success was how to set SMART goals. Their favorite part of this activity was taking a pipe cleaner and shaping it into something that would remind them of their goal. SMART is an acronym that stands for SPECIFIC, MEASURABLE, ACHIEVABLE, RELEVANT, and TIMELY. Their are four more lessons on Academic Success. The following pictures are of students setting goals and placing them in our Guidance Journals. Check back in for more guidance lesson updates!
