My name is Paige Betterton and I am the 6th-8th grade counselor at Ardmore High School. I am beginning my 6th year at Ardmore, and I cannot imagine spending my days anywhere except in the crazy, wild, chaotic atmosphere that is middle school. Let's face it...middle school is tough. My students grow Leaps and Bounds (hence the title of this website) physically and emotionally from the time they step foot on our 6th grade hallway, until the time has come for them to crossover to the high school. Middle School is a time of change. During this time their brains will change, their bodies will change, even their personalities will change, and they will all change at a different rate. What a wonderful opportunity that exists to help them navigate these normal changes that are coming!
During your child's time on my end of the campus we will explore career readiness, learn about ourselves, learn to get along with others, respect differences, grow more academically responsible, make meaningful connections with caring adults, join teams if they play sports, and learn about the type of person they want to become. Students will spend time talking about how WHO they want to be depends on the choices THEY make, and they will make a plan to head in the right direction.
As a parent of a middle school student myself, I look forward to partnering with you in navigating this crucial turning point in your child's academic and social development. Please do not hesitate to call me at 256-423-2685 Extension 10108, or email me at [email protected]. You can also schedule an appointment to see me by visiting the school website, www.ardmorehigh.org and clicking on the Counselors tab. Heres to a great school year!
